Design Task Outline (Formative Assessment):
You are a professional photographer and graphic designer.
The Art Dept. at Dover needs your help in creating display materials for the art rooms.
You are required to create a poster using Pages (or Adobe Illustrator) on an element of art, which will be assigned to you and your partner. You and your partner can work together to take photos, but each of you are required to create your own poster.
Your poster will need text explaining the element in your own words, as well as photos of the element taken by you.
Having a variety of photos to illustrate your element of art is encouraged, as long as it does not hinder from your poster design (sometimes less is more).
To create your poster, you should consider and incorporate the principles of design. Carefully consider layout/space, font, colour etc.
You will have 30 minutes to take pictures.
Return to class. Partners should have the photos saved to each of their laptops. It is recommended you back them up in Google Drive.
This resource may prove useful as it provides some prompts.
After being assigned your element, you and your partner should search for some example images online to use as inspiration.
